Who Moved My Cheese by Dr Spencer Johnson

This book is about 2 mice and 2 little people who live in a maze and have stations to get cheese for them to eat. One day the cheese ran out. So two mice travels through the maze to find other stations with actual cheese there so they can eat it.

The characters are Sniff, Scurry, the two little people named Hem, and Haw. First, it is Haw. Haw is the little person who the story is based on. He was afraid of change at first but later gets used to it and explores more. You can see more about what he does in the book. Second, it is Hem. Hem is another little person. He is too afraid of change, but the difference is he doesn’t explore. He keeps complaining about the disappearance of cheese. Third, it is Sniff. He is a mouse that is very simple. It just saw the changed and moved right away. Fourth, it is Scurry. He is another mouse that is also very simple. Also, he has the same traits as Sniff.

I learned that changes are very more important than you think. You have to keep following the changes that happen in your life. If you miss one time you are missing an entire part of a thing that is happening right now in your life. My mom and dad said to read some books that teach you a very good lesson. The one I chose to read is this one because this is the only one I already that time.

There are 17 chapters total, but the actual story of who moved my cheese is 13. The other 4 chapters are students talking about this book. So there are students talking about changes in their lives, and someone starts telling this story. There are 3 of those chapters before the story starts. After the story finishes, there is only 1 chapter. But in my opinion, I like the actual story better than the student part. There are 94 pages, so it isn’t that many pages. The chapters are 1. Parts of All of Us, 2. The Story Behind The Story, 3. A Gathering: Chicago, 4. Who Moved My Cheese?: The Story, 5. Four Characters, 6. Finding Cheese, 7. No Cheese!, 8. The Mice: Sniff & Scurry, 9. The Littlepeople: Hem & Haw, 10. Meanwhile, Back In the Maze, 11. Getting Beyond Fear, 12. Enjoying The Adventure, 13. Moving With The Cheese, 14. The Handwriting On The Wall, 15. Tasting New Cheese, 16. Enjoying Change!, 17. A Discussion: Later That Same Day. I recommend this book for the end of 3rd grade to 4th grade. I read it in 4th grade.
